Symbian-Guru: Gizmo Project on N80 and N95

It's great if you travel a lot to other countries, as you can use the hotels WIFI to call home at local rates, instead of paying the astronomically high roaming rates of the local carrier.

I guess this is mainly a problem in Europe, where the EU are just about to pass a law to put a limit to the price carriers can charge for roaming.

But basically if you are frequently in another country than your own, MOIP can save you a lot of money when calling home.

Indeed - truphone has been running free calls to US landlines for a while now. When I was in Europe and Australia, I was able to call the folks for free! Can't beat that.

Gizmo from betalabs is total BS..doesn't work and freezes the N95. Download from the download folder on the phone and it's all ok..

There are so many providers at the moment, I have tested them all on my n93 and can personally vouch for OneFone from a company called WifiMobile. Truphone didn't work well for me.

I agree, all the other crash and cut off too much. You can go to www.wifimobile.com to download the software free.

I have been using Gizmo on my N80ie and it works fine. There are some issues at times where it takes a while to connect to the call but all in all, I have been pleasantly surprised with it.
